Select a face-up card, then a destination column. Dragging also works.

A different kind of sequence

Keep these points in mind. Four complete King-to-Ace runs clear the game. Moves build down in the same suit rather than allowing cross-suit destinations. Scorpion on ntyinyi.com uses one 52-card deck with four suits. The tableau has seven columns.

Read the opening cards

The following details apply here. The first three cards in each of the first four columns are face down. Each opening column contains seven cards for a total of 49 tableau cards. All cards in the last three columns are face up. Three cards remain in the stock.

Check rank and suit together

Here are the details for this mode. A moved group's leading card must land on a card exactly one rank higher in the same suit. A seven of hearts cannot land on an eight of spades. A seven of hearts can land on an exposed eight of hearts. A King cannot land on another card because no higher rank exists.

Move exposed groups

A few details help explain this feature. The leading selected card still has to meet the destination rule. Any face-up card can be selected together with every card beneath it. The selected cards do not need to descend in rank to travel together. The selected cards do not need to share a suit to travel together.

The empty-column rule

The following details apply here. An empty column accepts a King or a group led by a King. A group led by a lower rank cannot enter an empty column. An empty column is therefore less flexible than an empty column in ordinary Spider. Cards beneath a moved King do not need to be in sequence.

Reveal the hidden cards

An exposed card can carry the cards beneath it when its own destination is legal. Undo restores the earlier hidden-card arrangement when the move is reversed. Removing all face-up cards above a hidden card turns that hidden card face up. The next hidden card is revealed automatically.

Use the stock once

Here are the details for this mode. This Scorpion version permits its stock deal when columns are empty. The stock contains one final deal of three cards. Dealing places a face-up card on each of the first three columns. There are no further stock cards after the three-card deal.

Collect ordered runs

Keep these points in mind. Moving an unordered group does not make that group a completed sequence. All thirteen cards in a collected run must be face up. A completed run must descend from King to Ace in one suit. The game removes a qualifying run automatically from the bottom of a column.

Practice Scorpion decisions

Keep these points in mind. Hint lists legal choices without promising a winning continuation. A move can carry unwanted cards along with a useful leading card. Checking the whole moved group helps you anticipate what will become blocked. Replay and Undo let you explore another approach to the same layout.

Your separate local record

The following details apply here. My Statistics records Scorpion starts and wins separately from other variants. Random Scorpion shuffles are not advertised as guaranteed winnable.
